I have some sites running multiple kinds of physical servers. Some have 4 x 1Gb NICS, some have 10 x 1Gb NICs, some have 2 x 10Gb NICs. Each of these physical NIC configurations has different design factors that impact virtual distributed switch design. Should I create a different set of virtual distributed switches for every physical NIC profile? What is the best way of handling this? I don't want to have too many distributed virtual switches. At the same time I don't want one set of vDS's to fit everything when everything doesn't fit. Thoughts?
