You do not want to get me started on "VMware tools working in a Fedora 19 guest!"
For openers,https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=990547
I spent half a day today searching the web trying to find a way to get a Fedora 19 guest to mount a Windows 8 / VMware Workstation 9.0.2 folder. open-vm-tools doesn't work, and neither do the VMware Tools that ship with VMware Workstation. Moreover, there seems to be an attitude in the "community" that ArchLinux is the place where one goes to find fixes for VMware / kernel source incompatibilites, not VMware, Fedora/Red Hat in my case, the Linux Foundation, and not the "open-vm-tools" project.
To be blunt, there are missing communications links, and I have no idea how to get them built. I'm just a VMware Workstation customer and (mostly) Fedora Linux user.
