Osnat Haiman created HHQ-5911:
-
Summary: TopN: specific platform has problems: records are not sent to the server & configuration problem
Key: HHQ-5911
URL: https://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-5911
Project: Hyperic HQ
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Osnat Haiman
Assignee: Adar Margalit
Priority: Major
TopN has worked well on different Linux platforms.
However, I noticed a wrong behavior on specific platform (10.23.196.166 root/imroot1).
I saw that when i changed the property 'top_processes.number' to 2 (default is 10) via the Configuration Proprties or via a management policy - it always has displayed 1 process (i.e. 1 line).
Before i opened this bug, I wanted to verify this behavior again & i added the agent to Hyperic.
I then saw then that it displayed "unavailable data" message.
When I looked at the topn_records folder - i saw that records got aggregated there and were not sent to the server.
The agent log has displayed the following repeating error:
ERROR Error sending TOPN data to server: IO error: Connection failure: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
Note: agent contains build 475 which worked well & was demonstrated in the Demo (we demonstrated well other Linux).
I can reboot the server, but I prefer not.
Maybe the platform is damaged, but maybe i faced 2 problems (the property change & the unsent messages) taht might occur at customers.
I suggest to analyze this platform in concern to the TopN feature.
According to the analysis - to decide if fix is needed or not.
