ESXi 5.0.0
We've got 2 ESXi hosts in a clustered high-availability environment. Recently we noticed that the Hardware Status for both the hosts isn't updating. On both hosts I've restarted the CIM Server service and reset the sensors but I still get a 'Hardware monitoring service not responding, the host is not powered on' message. Despite this message both hosts ARE on and functioning fine aside from hardware monitoring. If I go to Security Profile - Properties of Firewall - the CIM Server and CIM Secure Server are both checked and the incoming ports are set at 5988 and 5989 respectively. I can't find where to set the outgoing ports though. Could that be it? Any other suggestions?
Edit - We are using the virtual linux-based vcenter appliance. Could it be that it needs a reboot?
