ESXi and DMZ

Hi,

i have a question about how to operate a ESXi Host in a DMZ.

To know more, we wan´t to build some VM´s that have to placed in our DMZ. We do not wan´t to use VLAN´s on our present vCenter and configuration.

There are two questions for me.

1. Build a total new environment with a seperate vCenter Server located in the DMZ and two or more hosts.

2. Install two new Hosts in the DMZ and manage them with the current vCenter.

If we manage the hosts inside the available vCenter, we have to open some port for that. I guess we have to open the ports in both directions?

If so, i guess we have to build a seperate infrastructure.

Or are there any other vmware tools that i don´t know that are able to build what we want?

Any hints will be very appreciated.
